La pequeña Skye Savren-McCormick tiene tres años, y sobrevivió a la leucemia gracias a su valentía y a la ayuda de una joven que fue su donante de médula dándole una nueva oportunidad y devolviéndole la esperanza a su familia. Los médicos habían pronosticado que solo tenía el 10% de posibilidades de sobrevivir.
Skye apenas tenía un año cuando fue diagnosticada con leucemia mielomonocítica juvenil, después de una dura batalla logró superarla. Ryals fue la responsable de que Skye recibiera la médula que necesitaba para vivir, y desde entonces se creó entre ellas un vínculo de amor muy especial.
Hayden Hatfield de 26 años, le salvó la vida con el trasplante y una transfusión de células en abril de 2017.
La familia de Ryals mantenía contacto con ella por mensajes de texto y a través de Facebook, poco tiempo después, los padres de la pequeña recibieron una noticia que alegró su corazón.
Hayden se iba a casar y quería que la pequeña Ryals fuera quien la acompañara al altar. Así que sus padres viajaron con ella desde California hasta Alabama para asistir al ensayo de la boda.
En ese momento se conocieron en persona por primera vez, fue un encuentro muy emotivo. Hayden comentó: “Caminé hacia ella y me caí de rodillas, y todo lo que pude hacer fue sonreír”.

? Hayden and Adrian married each other June 9, 2018, at Shiloh Baptist Church in Hartford, AL. Believe it or not, this is only the second wedding I have worked that was located in a church. The ceremony took place at the church and the reception was at the bride’s parents home. The scene was rustic, country, and welcoming.? Hayden and her mother met me at Bird and the Bean Coffee shop a little while back to go over their wedding video needs and was able to learn a little about them. Being able to meet my clients in person to go over details is one of my favorite ways to connect and understand what they are looking for. A coffee shop works great for these meetings!? Adrian is a brother-in-arms serving in the Air Force. It was an honor to film their wedding for this fact alone. Adrian, thank you for your service!? Wedding week I found out about a very heartwarming element that was going to be part of the wedding. Hayden donated bone marrow to a little girl recently and was able to meet her for the first time at the rehearsal. She was also the flower girl. Another reason why I love what I do is to be part of special moments like this and capture it.? Since then there have been tons of news sites reporting about the loving act Hayden did towards Skye! Cuando llegó el día de la boda, la pequeña caminó hacia el altar mientras tiraba pétalos de rosas protagonizando el día más importante en la vida de Hayden. Fue la encargada de llevar los anillos con el que los novios sellarían su alianza.
Hayden escribió en su perfil de Facebook que se sentía muy emocionada por contar con la presencia de una luchadora como Skye el día más importante de su vida.
Desde que se conocieron se hicieron inseparables, “ella es todo para mí y fue un honor ayudarla a vencer el cáncer”, dijo Hayden.
Su emotiva historia ha conmovido al mundo y ha servido para crear conciencia sobre la importancia de donar médula y sangre para salvar vidas. ¡Compártela!
